The patch is Dartford and the places that share its borough: Swanscombe, Greenhithe, Stone, Longfield, Wilmington, Bean, Darenth and Ebbsfleet. Dartford Online answers to nobody it writes about, the borough council included.
What we are for
A lot happens in this borough that never reaches the Kent papers or the London ones, because Dartford sits awkwardly between the two. Somewhere this close to the crossing and the high speed line changes quickly, and the record of that change is public but scattered across a dozen websites. Pulling it together is the news side of what we do. The local information pages are the other side, and the part people use most often.
Where the facts come from
We work from primary sources and we name them: Dartford Borough Council’s papers and planning register, police.uk crime data, Food Standards Agency inspections, The Gazette, and official alerts on flooding and roadworks. Every fact carries a link to its origin. We do not run a press release as reporting without saying that is what it is, and we do not print a figure we cannot point at.
