Where the trains go, and how long they take

London Bridge: the workhorse route

London Bridge has the most services of any London destination, around 201 direct trains a day, with an average journey of about 41 minutes and the fastest at 37 minutes (Southeastern). Trains run via Sidcup or via Woolwich and Greenwich depending on the service. With the Jubilee and Northern lines underneath, it is the most useful interchange on the list.

Charing Cross: for the West End

Roughly 141 direct trains a day, average about 45 minutes, fastest 39 minutes (Southeastern). These trains call at London Bridge and Waterloo East on the way in, so one service covers the South Bank, Whitehall and the West End.

Cannon Street: for the City

Victoria: the slower back door
