Dartford FC marks 20 years at Princes Park on Saturday 28 November against Cray Wanderers, with 2006 prices: £9 adults, £5 concessions, under-12s free.
Dartford FC will celebrate 20 years at Princes Park on Saturday 28 November, and tickets for the day will cost what they did when the ground opened in 2006.
The club announced its plans on 30 October. The ground’s actual anniversary is 11 November. The club chose a later match because of possible cup clashes, and because it felt the 28 November fixture was the more fitting one (Dartford FC).
The opponents are Cray Wanderers. Dartford shared Cray’s ground during what the club calls its “many years without a home”, before Princes Park opened.
What is planned on 28 November
The club says it will:
- charge £9 for adults and £5 for concessions and children aged 13 and over, the prices on opening day in 2006
- let children aged 12 and under in free
- invite former players and people who were part of the opening day
- put on extra activities before, during and after the game
- give season ticket holders a voucher at the turnstile for a free drink in the Skinner’s Bar
- sell a souvenir programme
Tickets are already on sale online through the club’s website. The club has not yet published a kick-off time or the full list of activities.
Your memories of opening day
The souvenir programme is still being designed, and the club wants fans’ memories of the opening day in 2006. It asks for a few sentences, with your full name, sent to dartfordfc7@gmail.com. It says it will use as many as it can.
More to come this season
The club has also named a Christmas party in the Princes Suite on Saturday 19 December. It will be a ticketed event open to everyone, with details still to come. Other events will be announced over the rest of the season.
The ground today
Dartford Borough Council owns the Princes Park building. Its roof and timber cladding are due to be replaced, and in October the council’s Cabinet was asked for up to £300,000 more from reserves to cover the work. Our story on the roof repairs has the detail.
